Woke up to our first bit of snow.  A perfect day to try out a new recipe.

Oat & Honey Bars/makes 24 bars
1/2 c vegetable oil,1/2 c honey,2 tsp vanilla ext1 large egg (in my case 2 small eggs)  the banty hens lay small eggs,2 c old fashion rolled oats, 3/4 unbleached flour,1/2 c brown sugar,1/2 c toasted wheat germ,1/2 c raisins, 1/2 cup almonds or walnuts (opt)3/4 tsp salt

Preheat oven to 350 F Line 13" by 9" baking pan with parchment paper 
Mix oil,honey egg vanilla in a small bowl
In a larger bowl mix oats, flour, sugar, almonds, wheat germ, raisins and salt
Blend liquids mixture into dry mixture and stir until completely blended 
 Press (use fork dipped into cold water) mixture evenly into baking dish  
Bake for 30-33 mins Cool & cut into squares. Aprox 155 cal a bar.
